only 1m people have paid for a digital game?.... what utter bollocks.

and only 0.5m people have paid for DLC

who the hell are these people... that must be way off.

First off, it says that "a further .5 million have paid for DLC", which means that 1.5 million people have paid for DLC.

Secondly, I don't see why it is so hard to believe that only 1 million people in the UK have bought a digital game.  It's not like the UK is that huge a market.

It's also worth pointing out that retail v digital prices on the PS3 in the UK weigh heavily in the favour of buying at retail. Games go on PSN for £49.99 when they're sub £30 at online retailers...

While this is true, as someone who has bought 100+ psn games, I have to say that this applies chiefly to new releases. I bought Dante's Inferno for £6,5 (same for Mini Ninjas) and Darksiders for £5,5. I also bought tons of psp games that were on sale (about £3 each, including FF games and Monster Hunter Unite), as well as Pixel Junk games for less than a quid each. I even bought some Vita games (such as Littlle Devaints for £8, while the cheapest availble online is £12)

Sure, most items are more expensive than retail, but there are tons of exceptions/special offers.
