That was a misunderstanding on the parts of the journalists. It doesn't take 30 minutes for your comments to go live in general. It only does that if you've been flagged as a user that repeatedly posts inappropriate things. It's kind of like being set to "moderated" on a forum - because of your past behaviour, you can post at any time, but until a moderator has OKed the post, it won't be visible to others. And they didn't say they won't pay for exclusives. They said that they won't pay just to get an exclusive because it's an exclusive. Instead, they try to make the best platform to put games on, and provide financial support for development of games with innovative uses of the system. As for selling at a loss or profit... that's an utterly idiotic assertion. People buy things for what they provide them, not how much they cost to make. That is, the value of the system is not actually tied to the cost of making it. If they can inject enough value into it, then they could charge $800 for a system that cost only $100 to make, and do so successfully. Heck, it's what Apple does all the time (keep in mind that value is something perceived by the customer, it isn't the same as quality or features). |
Thanks for clearing that up. I will be buying Wiiu and 720. The apple metaphore is great way to explain it and why I don't much care for apple. However you are right. People love apple even though I'm not a fan. It's all about appeal. Mario always has appeal with me. I love the nintendo for this reason, some of us grew up on nintendo and this is the longest running console maker. So everyone that plays games most likely grew up on nintendo. Zelda, Mario are just straight classics. Hard to be a gamer and not play these games. However they do need a achievement system. That would be nice. Coins for small completions and stars for full completions of games.
