That is not the main point of this thread though. The main point is that we shouldn't hate our criminals and that punishing unfortunate people theoretically makes no sense. The electric chair would be most severe example of unjustified punishments.



I don't think most people genuinely hate them. They may dislike them for the damage they may have done, but I don't think they hate them. (in fact, hate is nonexistant in most religions). But then of course, it's hard to instruct someone to not hate something, as hate is a powerful and often uncontrollable emotion for humans.
