All existing Windows Phone 7 apps will function and be available for Windows Phone 8. Also the Native Code functionality will allow simpler porting of Android and iPhone apps to Windows Phone so the marketplace will be booming with activity on the app front. As hollabackenny said, I've still got a ways to go before I upgrade from my N900 but when the time comes it looks like it will be between WP8 and BB10. Ah hell, I might as well just get both.

Well, that's good to know that their apps will continue working. Still, they're shafting their current customer base pretty hard here... Nokia, too. I wonder how the Finnish are taking this announcement (though I'm sure they were prepped for it beforehand). They can't be pleased that Microsoft essentially put up a huge sign saying "don't buy a Lumia 900, it's going to die".

Really, you're excited about BlackBerry 10? Really? People give a shit about Blackberry in 2012, despite the fact that the company has been wrong as close to 100% of the time as a company could be in the past half decade?
