Nintendo gives you good reasons for a hardware update: you can still play the games and use the old controllers. But if I had a PS2 and wanted a PS3, cannot use the games, cannot use the controllers. But it seemed like they supported the PS2 a little longer. (Well it was the most successful anyway, big userbase and so on). But the PS3 is the opposite, less succesful of the gen and smaller userbase. Microsoft, for instance, once they had released the 360, the original xbox had no more support. And no backward compatibility either (I have the original star wars Kotor but my 360 just wont play it for some reason) And, yes, I like Nintendo. We like Nintendo in my family. I may buy a pS3 for this holyday season and save money to get me a Wii U next year. And I do not doubt that the WiiU will be a smashing success so Microsoft and Sony shouldn't take too much time to respond or it is going to cost them a lot of money. I am not spending a lot of money in ps3 games, only AAA, or above 85% scores. Multiplat I will get them for my 360. But I would like a couple of years to enjoy the machine, but if Sony will be forced to catch up with Nintendo, they will put all their guns in developing games for the PS4. And we can kiss the 10 year plan good bye. |
The new Wii the small is not backwards compatible.
