Also, I can't stand the inaccuracies of IR technology. I had fun with the Wii except in every instance I had to use IR.

Huh?  Of all the complaints about the Wii, the IR pointer is one I rarely hear, and never regarding accuracy.  When properly set up, it is extremely accurate.

Personally, I think the IR pointer was the best feature of the Wii remote, and the best innovation this generation.

Agreed, 100%.  Using the IR pointer in shooters like Prime 3/Trilogy is the single best use of the Wii remote, IMO.  For me, it blows dual analogue out of the water in both accuracy and feeling of movement.

OT:  Well, from the Zelda demo at last year's E3, WiiU can display the full game image in real time on both the tv and the controller screen simultaneously.  While we have yet to see that happening in any of the actual games so far, it's highly unlikely that the PS3/Vita combo can achieve that kind of performance with just the hardware and one game, as evidenced by PSASBR, in which you must have multiple copies of the game for the PS3 and each Vita for cross-platform play.
