None of the games you listed are very comparable.

I think people should be concerned about a game when the studio hasn't released anything in coming up to 7 years and their game has basically been vapourware for 3 or so years. I don't think people are even worried it will be terrible. Simply that there is a chance it could still be years out and if it doesn't light up sales charts then you better believe Sony will start wondering if keeping Team Ico around in its current form is worth it. If we had some recent trailers, screenshots etc of TLG I think people would be far less concerned. I don't think it has turned into the next DNF in terms of comicality yet however it is well beyond being compared to Fez, AW and GT5.

I will also point out that the trailer, concept and what was said about TLG seem very similar to Majin and the forsaken kingdom. So it really doesn't seem like some impossible task and something very different. Considering Majin ended up around 75% in reviews I would even say you could take that game give it great graphics, tighten the controls, improve the atmosphere and bish bash bosh job done. You have a critically loved game.

As an aside I don't think doing a HD 'remaster' counts as releasing a game. Honestly I'm not even sure how much work had to be done in the first place but it seems Bluepoint were the ones doing the porting and Team Ico were perhaps in a consulting role.

Well maybe Prey then, 1995-2006. Still turned out to be pretty good although portal stole it's thunder in the mean time.

Majin and the forsaken Kingdom was a good game but I don't think it's very comparable at all. You pretty much have direct control over the Majin and he's very limited in where he can go.
I think the major difficulties they're having with TLG is in realizing the vision of an autonomous AI of that size that has to be able to navigate through all the architecture in full 3D while responding to what the player is doing. I really hope they can pull it off without having to redesign major parts and restrict where he can go. I have already played and enjoyed Majin and the forsaken kingdom, not waiting for a look alike. (A follow up sure, WiiU maybe?) I am however very curious to see what they can do with TLG. Ofcourse whether it will ultimately be worth it remains to be seen.

No more trailers and screenshots is both a blessing and a curse. I don't really want anymore spoilers, and I guess they're also hesitant in showing things that might have to be scrapped at the very end. Still I hope to see some more at TGS.
