I think Sony guy is not keying into the real value and potential of the PS-Vita to allow asymetric game design in connection with PS3.
- Gorgeous 5" OLED screen that is best in class
- Multi-touch screen that is best in class
- Rear-touch screen that is first and only in existance
- Stereo Surround Sound speakers built in that are best in class
- Front and Rear facing camera
- Gyro & Accelerometer controls
In terms of content that Wii U could push to the actual gamepad screen... the Wii U will have the clear advantage there having already shown gorgeous stuff running at HD and 60fps on the gamepad with no disernable lag due to proprietary form of wireless HDMI.
The Vita is not as strong as the PS3 and the Wii U is at least a little stronger than the PS3.
Also, as you said being designed for this type of connectivity, the expeirence on Wii U will be more integrated.
