While the OP article is bad... really bad.
One point is obvious. MS did a rushed job on their presentation solely due to Google's I/O event next week. While I really don't think it was because of the tablet themselves, I think it was more due to the covers/keyboards.
Keep in mind Asus already has had Android tablets out that have keyboard docks (as well as Motorola) that make their tablets more of a laptop experience. Add to that, that the Nexus tablet that is rumored to be shown next week is also made by Asus. Maybe MS worried that part of their thunder may be stolen by waiting too long to show off what they are cooking.
