My question to you is...why buy a console that is offering you everything you already have? Nintendo needs to be making new IP's to make use of the Wii U, not going after the COD crowd. They came late to that party and next gen they are going to be gimped. It's mostly loyal Nintendo fanatics and probably a couple new users who will buy the Wii U. The casual hype is over, which means 70% of the casual sales they attained this generation will vanish. The gaming industry has expanded so we're looking at 50-60 Million consoles at best next generation. If Nintendo pumps out their own titles rather than trying to be like the competition whilst utilizing their hardware they should do better than that, if they try to be like the PS3/360 they will have dealt with an already satisfied market and have slow sales. Nintendo has always been in their own world. I think they should stay that way for their health. The Wii U is an intriguing piece of hardware and if games are made for it well enough I might purchase it myself. If they are trying to do what the "HD Twins" are doing its of no value to me and I am sure many other core gamers. |
Then why buy a new console period? I believe people buy new consoles to upgrade/change their gaming hobbies, wether Wii U is a big upgrade from the HD twins or not, WE don't know, You cant possibly tell me that you know what the Wii U will offer to consumers, you might not like what you seen so far but that its only your opinion, all I said is that, TO ME, having the newest console out before the competition might bring some COD fans to the WII U, provided that such game is released on the mentioned console, somehow, you are making it sound as if Nintendo is changing their entire business plan and abandoning their own IPs, I am positive we will see Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Metroid, Animal Crossings, Kirby, Fire Emblem, etc, etc in the console. but if some FPS fans come along, why not?
You seem to be positive that casual gaming trend is dead, yet numbers disagree with you, have you seen how many copies of Temple Run, Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds and all those little phone games get purchased or downloaded a day? If anything Casual gaming is on the rice, wether it will stay on consoles move to mobile devices, we dont know, but I bet Nintendo ALONG with Sony and Microsoft will want to take a bite of that market.
Back to the COD franchise, I never said it will move all its fans to the Wii U, all I said it might, again I dont know, but just remember that heavy franchises have switched to different consoles for different reasons, Final Fantasy comes to mind, and some more, yet they found sucess in all consoles. I do not see why you are looking at the Wii U as an immediate fail for COD, the system isnt even out yet.
