Mass Effect 3 has had no equal thus far. Really poor year so far. I would count the Witcher 2, but that came out long ago and has already collected its GOTY awards.

Both great games, but the Witcher 2 has the more satisfying endings and your choices truly affect the story. Amazing how much they did on smaller budget than Bioware. I was shocked after I finished the game.

And the sexscenes are very good, much better then in Mass Effect. I know it is not a porn or something but they are good made you have to appreciate that.

But I thought the gameplay was better in Mass Effect and the characters as well. Altough I don´t know how the elves are need to finish it again to see what happens there. But still Mass Effect 3 > every other RPG
