It's a completely different machine. The Pro is an Intel-based full version of Windows 8, like your laptop or desktop. The RT is the equivalent of an iPad, running Windows 8 on ARM architecture.

yeap they really need to make people get that.... god apple and the dumb tablet fiasco got people stupid and computer ileterrate.... no offense argh college not saying you are one of them.... but i bet you my nuts more than half of the iPad/kindle crowd have no clue....
