'Halo 2 - The glitchy, sloppy campaign would be a chore if it wasn't so short' Looking back at your post, I think I mistook Far Cry 2 and Doom 3 for games that were universally liked. However, your description of Halo 2 is pretty much the opposite of how I would describe it, hence my assumption. Guess it's just a difference of opinion. |
I remember playing Halo 2 and watching an enemy driving into a wall, upon destroying his vehicle, he proceeded to repeatedly run back and forth into the wall. That was not an isolated incident and I only played the brief campaign but a single time. Just because other people have exceptionally low standards that doesn't mean that the game is actually good. I don't gloss over or ignore such issues. That being said, most people played Halo 2 for the multiplayer which I only played on one occasion. Also, Doom 3 and Far Cry 2 were miles away from being universally liked, especially the latter. Doom 3's user scores on Gamefaqs and Metacritic are 78 and 73 whereas Far Cry 2 scored a generous 62 and 56. Far Cry 2's campaign was almost universally despised by the people who actually played through it (unlike the critics).
