The thing about portable games in general (not including mobile games on iOS) is that they take a bit more time to play and get into that the typical throwaway title on smartphones so they really are best reserved for those who commute on a train, work shift hours with lots of dead time, or maybe even game in bed for at least a half hour before going to sleep.

It probably explains why I got the most mileage out of the GBA and DSl: it was when I was working long shift hours with dead time.

It also explains why the PSP was barely used despite building up a pretty decent library of good titles. Unless I played at home, I had no reason to break out a portable game for a half hour or more due to dead time.

Games on the PSV and 3DS basically have to compete for my gaming time when at home meaning in bed before going to sleep is about the only use they see unless I get a random urge to play X game during the day time.

But, if I ever find myself working in the middle of nowhere on long shifts, removed from the living room, or commuting by train to avoid traffic those portables will likely see a ton of use.
