CVII is a really good adventure, but it is absurdly easy. I've only ever finished CVIII once, though I have beaten akumajo densetsu (CV III jap) several times. Those games being as hard as they were was a misconception from the Japanese developers believing that those games were not hard enough for American audiences so they jacked up the difficulties on CV I and III and also did that with the Ninja Gaiden series (the Japanese versions are much much easier.)
