Go look up the full story and don't just trust me on this, if you find doubts. There was a reality with Glenn Beck that, while he did decent ratings, sponsors were avoiding him. Apparently his going full conspiracy and targeting liberal interests, cause them, in turn, to then target his sponsors. End result was he kept losing sponsors who didn't want to have anything to do with him:

Anyhow, can the main topic here be gotten back to? That is that of the idea to have people donate more to charity, in order to offset cuts in government. Do people think that is a good idea or not? It is not about "who is better", but whether the idea of doing this is a good idea or not.
