1. Not sure, don't own any BD movies.
2. A lot more options but overall, it's pretty similar.
3. HDMI has HDCP and therefore allows you 1080p and DVD upscaling.
There is an adapter available but I'm not sure how well it works. I'll see if I can dig up the link.
