That is basically a Buddhistic view, as in "As long as you love God, you will be happy, no matter what misery may happen to you." And we all know that that is not true, or at least not true in most cases.

My point, regarding your quote: Simply trusting and listening to God won't make you happy. I mean, there is even the possibility that admitting your faith may lead to misery if, for instance, your family has a different view than you do. By lying in that scenario you should even end up happier, so that quote is illogical.

But you do know that religious people and people that follown God in general are generally more happy and satisfied with their lives, while atheists and thos who dont beleive in God are more likely to sad, depressed and miserable, right? I made a threa about it a year ago, I'll see if I can find it again. So, if anything, following God will more likely make you a happier person, rather than the opposite, which is what you suggested.

While that might be true, it's important to put everything in perspective. Would you rather live a life full of lies that made you happy, than live through the sometimes painful truth?

And on top of that; I know that lots of happy religious people look down on homosexuals in one way or another. In that case I wouldn't say that they deserve that happiness.
