That is basically a Buddhistic view, as in "As long as you love God, you will be happy, no matter what misery may happen to you." And we all know that that is not true, or at least not true in most cases.
My point, regarding your quote: Simply trusting and listening to God won't make you happy. I mean, there is even the possibility that admitting your faith may lead to misery if, for instance, your family has a different view than you do. By lying in that scenario you should even end up happier, so that quote is illogical.
