Age of consent where I live is sixteen if that helps at all. I love Mississippi.

that's very late where you live.

Sadly we do have a lot of pregnant youngins.  I live on the coast and we're a lot different from the rest of the state but we still have above average teen pregnancy rates compared nationally.  There was a 10 year old pregnant at the school my mother works at but the circumstances behind it were pretty crappy.

We are last in everything like education and wealth but we're number 1 in pregnancy and obesity.  Again though, the coast is different.

age of consent is late where you live compared to other places (or is it so late in whole usa?) but you have higher teen pregnancy?

Oops, I read that wrong.  The age of consent in many states is 17 or 18.  The states that the age of consent is 16 mostly have stipulations on what's legal and such.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America#Connecticut  Some stipulations are if you're over 25 you still can't do a 16 year old or if you're a teacher or coach it is illegal.  It's weird and should just be federal.

Mississippi on the other hand have no stipulations if you're sixteen.

As for pregnancy rates, they are very high.  I watched chick fall down and start giving birth in high school (I didn't keep watching).  It's mostly the poor that have high pregnancy rates and we have a lot of poor folks.  I think Mississippi is either #1 or #2 in teen preg. rates in the US(it's back and forth between us and Alabama).
