Whatever happens, can we please at least all agree that, once the Wii U, PS4, and Xbox 720 are all released, the collective term for the three consoles is not "next-gen", but "current gen"?

It bugged the hell out of me that, as late as 2009, people were still calling the PS3 and 360 "next-gen consoles".

I still see it happen, although I assume these people just have a poor understanding of English, or are of lower intelligence.

Since the 3DS and Vita were announced, I've noticed a significant decline, and even more since the Wii U was announced. Since I'm not sure about exactly when the decline in usage started, I chose a time when I'm confident it was still in full force.

I think anyone who still uses it must necessarily be of lower intelligence, since if PS3 and 360 are "next-gen", how do you refer to the Vita, or to PS4 or Xbox 720 (even if you stupidly believe that the Wii U doesn't classify)? Is there really anybody out there who would refer to those systems as "next-next-gen", now?
