I dont think there was any fanboyism at all last gen, everyone accepted PS2s superiority, GC and Xbox were secondary consoles in households. All this fanboy nonsense this gen started with the PS3 song and xbox fans saying "ps3 haz no gaemz".

HA! Sales superiority, maybe. GC and Xbox were better consoles, though. There was fanboyism last gen, it was just limited in scope because, aside from the Dreamcast, the PS2 came out first, established a huge lead, and kept it without question, leaving little room for hope or fear from the fanbases regarding an upset.

PS2 was the superior console both in sales and games. Now if you're talking bout graphics, thats somethin else. I dont think there was any fanboyism last gen. Can you find me any Xbox or GC songs or articles like "GC haz no gaemz"? I also cannot find any threads on the internet from the period of 2000-2006 arguing why console x or y sucks or owns.
I bought my Gamecube in 2003, it was my first console last gen. Then I bought a PS2 becoz there were no GTA or Onimushas on the GC. And when the original xbox came out, I thought it was cool.
