I was too young to remember Sega vs. Nintendo in the early 90's. I remember the kerfuffle when the PS1 launched vs. the N64 (and I remember that Crash Bandicoot mascot incident as well, lol) but I wouldn't say it was so much a rivalry as Sony trying to ruffle some feathers.
