Keep in mind we know even less about the next Playstation/Xbox consoles. Maybe Nintendo doesn't want to show their hand. They testing the waters for Sony and Microsoft. Every complaint we have about the Wii U will be rectified when the next PS3/360 comes along. Also, everything Nintendo does right will likely be copied. Maybe Nintendo wants Sony and Microsoft to have dev kits out to developers and have their specs written in stone. Then, Nintendo will say, "You fools! Little did you know that there was a switch on the bottom of the Wii U that kicks it into awesome mode!"
