How readily people seem to neglect the fact that this device has 3x the memory of either PS3 or 360. Let's only look at the numbers that make the system look bad

We are trying to discuss the Wii U, logic is stricly forbidden =P

Honestly in terms of raw power the Wii U probably will end up closer to 360/PS3 than 720/PS4. However the Wii U has quite a lot of features that could make it's games look closer to those of the PS4/720 than the 360/PS3.

The Gpu is much more modern and has some added on features we don't fully know about yet. The memory has increased enough to provide a nice bump in textures. The dedicated audio dsp will mean that the cpu doesn't have to handle it. The tesselation unit will provide a nice visual bump (I believe the 360 did have one but it was almost never used and quite insubstantial).

The Wii U certainly has enough going on that when developers start using it more efficiently it will be able to provide much better looking games than the PS3/360. The big question really is how many developers outside of Nintendo will?

P.S. As an aside and to kinda help pokeclaudel (EDIT:Sorry there Nintendopie lol. Was looking at quotes and got mixed up) out I will post a screenshot of SMG2 being run in HD on the dolphin. Keep in mind the game itself looks the same (textures, effects etc) only in HD. Although I don't actually agree with his point that SMG1 looked as good as anything out at the time on 360/PS3 (it didn't). I will say though that the SMG games being run in HD (not something the Wii itself was capable of) could probably pass as 360/PS3 games. Just not high production value ones

Isn't that screenshot from Dolphin emulator? I have it and Nintendo games look crazy good on it. Try F-Zero GX and Windwaker, they look like current gen games.
