I used to think the same way, but it really isn't. There are much more important things in life than posting on VGC or any other website. Don't waste too much of your time when you can be doing much more productive things.
On topic: Yes, my family knows I post a lot on this site and on GoNintendo. My friends have no idea, and my ex girlfriend had no idea. I would like to keep things that way.
