That's six vs. six fouls that were punished with yellow cards/yellow+red cards. Plus a hands from Portugal and a yellow card for Ricardo for whatever reason. Ergo, non-gravity was correct: You are rewriting history. This wasn't proof that the Dutch team played overly hard, but rather that both teams did. Also, I think Deco was sent off the field for kicking the ball away, so that's another strike against Portugal. Yeah, it's all coming back now. This is why I utterly despise Portugal. Plus, people who defended Portugal for this game made me even angrier back then. A Dutch shot hitting the crossbar and going down in front of the goal line... luck definitely was on the side of Portugal in this game. I am going to root for Germany now. These pesky Portuguese rats must be destroyed. |
You're right, we did reply in kind and I'm not particularly proud that my team did that.
I'm not rewritting history, because if you pay any kind of attention to the highlights as well, it was the dutch players that "kicked it" off with Van Bommel trying to crush Ronaldo's ankle and all hell broke loose from there.
Oh please, as if Holland played anything at all in that game. Wow, they got a ball on the cross, good for them
. Go see the match statistics and see who had the most oportunities and played the best football.
I'm not particularly confident against Germany tomorrow, but that's because I have no qualms in saying that the german team is better than us by a longshot
. Still, i'll be pleasantly surprised if we do win as that'll give us a big morale boost. It's not as if we haven't beaten a much better German team before
