Games were more expensive back then because the games weren't a mass market product. In America they were 49.99 and now they are 59.99. Uncharted 2 was a sequal made in the same engine and style as the first. Not to mention that they only work on one games so it's a few hundred people working on one game. You also saw in interviews they started development immediately after they released the first game. They said in interviews they had almost no rest between games. They've also stated that their development team gets bigger and bigger after the release of each Uncharted game. We don't even know how much of their game they farm development to other studios to help them out. Look at Prototype 2 you'll be hard press to find any differnce in graphics or real engine changes yet it still took them 3 years to make a sequal to it. Last gen a developer could make a sequal to a game in the same engine in 1 year without any problems now it would take twice as long to make a sequal. |
America is different then, PS2 released for 499 euros here in Europe while it was around 300 dollars in America.
