After the reactions to the conference, they WILL nake sure the 3DS showcase is casual-free. 

Doubt that, they still need to talk about Animal Crossing and there's a rumor that a new version of Tomodachi Collection is being made. However, what the 3DS showcase will do is show that they're putting out a new console with a solid enough launch-window lineup, and have a handheld that's finally coming into its own on the software front

Animal Crossing is somewhat core, and Tomodachi Collection is kinda niche, and I doubt the 3DS will be able to hold its own for very long when Ninteno's developers shift to the Wii U.
