Which is precisely why it got below average ratings. You defended their argument. In my opinion, Microsoft would be a D or D+, while Sony's would be a C+/B-. Below Average for MS and slightly above for Sony. |
From a pure gaming perspective Sony obviously beat MS no question. But neither were anywhere near even being average. Both awful just MS slightly more awful and the actual presentation wasn't as gamer centric in it's style. Even if Microsoft announced exactly the same content as Sony, it's actual show wouldn't have been as good because Microsoft present like some kind of boring seminar.
That still doesn't make Sony's conference "above average". Saying as such would be like reviewers giving mediocre games 7.5s instead of 5s.
If the E3 press conferences were reviewed likes games should be, then Sony scored a 4.5 and Microsoft scored a 4 (out of 10).
From a media entertainment perspective Microsoft's show could be seen as average, but nobody nor myself is really interested in that exceot the type of people who wouldn't even be watching the E3 show to begin with.
Microsoft have screwed gaming unfortunately and are taking things to a bland place, sad times.
