Is it really just a ripoff or merely a new entry in what is going to be a new genre? After Doom came out, every game that looked like it was being called a Doom-clone, but almost 20 years later we still play those kind of games, but instead of still calling them clones, they're now first-person-shooters. So I don't mind that it's heavily inspired by SSB.
Besides, I don't think that SSB is that original to begin with. It's basically a 4-player Street Fighter with Nintendo characters. http://tinyurl.com/6vqbaka
