I think I owe Call of Duty an apology (that or I haven't studied the money-making mechanics of CoD Elite properly, seeing as I haven't bought a CoD game for a few years - doubling the price of the game to get access to DLC a week or so early?). Almost every single update for Battlefield 3 has been built around adding a new revenue stream; Online Pass, paid multiplayer unlocks, rent-a-server, and now the Premium season pass.

I don't mind the online/season passes in most games as most publishers usually pick between the two, but chucking in both seems a bit over the top. At least the Battlefield one still comes with the discount as opposed to buying all the expansion packs separately.
