You really have to be careful when comparing handhelds to consoles. We all know that handhelds can sell to more than one person in a household, while there's usually only 1 of any given console, so obviously the PSP should do better than the PS3 over a given timespan. The only difference is the market for handhelds is smaller, so they top out sooner.

DS shows that a Handheld can challenge consoles, however it doesn't change my assessment that PS3 will undertrack the PSP

Yeah I know. That was more of a joke anyway, because it doesn't really help the PS3 will sell "x" units arguement, because if the PSP should sell to more people in a household, how will the PS3 sell more than the PSP?

Also, yes, the DS is scary. Japan has a population of roughly 127 million, and the DS has sold to 20 million of those people. That is just crazy, especially for a handheld. The PS2 sold 25 million in Japan, for comparison, and the DS should easily beat that, unless Nintendo comes out with a new handheld, which they won't, since they haven't even really had a price drop yet.

Edit: I forgot about that guy on YouTube that has "3" PS3s.
