@zimbawawa I'm pretty sure they built the Pro controllers for outside appeal and control option for devs and players.
Wii Classic Controller Pro = PS3 controller shape
Wii U Pro Controller = Xbox 360 controller shape
There are other small differences between each(such as functions and input), also the Pros are optional and are sold separately.
