Same reason why stuff like Killzone 3 can't do big numbers on the PS3 while games like Heavy Rain do amazing numbers.
Especially cause Heavy Rain is by some haters not even called a game.

Killzone 2 and 3 both outsold Heavy Rain, and try checking the Call of Duty sales numbers on the PS3, you'll clearly see the same audience is on the PS3.

Alan Wake got a lot of hype cause it was a long time teased as a Dark Open World GTA with killing a lot of stuff > Perfect for the 360
In the moment they changed it to a storytelling action adventure with a flashlight,nearly no shooting andscary elements most people weren't interested anymore.
Alan Wake would have done a LOT better on the PS3 while Killzone and so on would do better on the 360.

Different Communities = different tastes.
Im glad Remedy brought it to the PC cause they wanted more people to reach their game and it paid off for them.Hopefully Alan Wake 2 comes a lot sooner to PC this time.
