1) It's far more convenient

Not really, my pc game collection is a mess now. Sure steam is nice, but I also have games from gog.com and games directly from different publishers leading to a bunch of emails to keep track of with download links and activation codes and passwords.
Downloading 10gb is also far from convenient, much faster to get the game from a shop. Especially when you want to watch Netflix or something while waiting for a download. Not recommended.

2) It's cheaper, for not only the consumer but the developer and publisher as well

Not yet for the consumer, steam still sells new games at the same price of retail. So far consumers only get less for the same price.
And you need to factor in the cost of your internet connection. I would have to get a more expensive connection or pay 2 dollars extra per Gb over my monthly limit.

3) Downloads don't break, consoles are cheaper

I haven't had 1 broken game disc this gen, I have however had all my consoles break, 360 twice. Re-Downloading my digital games library takes forever.

4) It's good for the environment

Can't argue with that, although not playing games at all is even better. Leaving your console on all night to download a game isn't great either.

Digital downloads are convenient for smaller snack sized experiences and for games I would trade in anyway after completing them. However the current pricing is still far off for new games to beat day 1 buy then trade. And if I change my mind I can always keep the game. It's much nicer to have the games I love sitting on the shelf with nice box art instead of just an entry in a database.
I like to browse through my movie collection as well. Having a 'watch it again' list in Netflix does not begin to compare. And for games it's also far easier to have extras on the disk instead of having to download them separately.
