I wonder how well Microsoft is going to do with the business sector (which buys most of the PCs which run Windows) with an OS that is based on a cell phone.

These attempts forging linkages should be done carefully and I don't see the level of concern from MS.

Could Google-Linux be the new OS of 2020?

I agree with what you are saying (about OSes based on cell phones) but I don't see MS having any other choice. The problem with MS netbook, tablet and phone OSes is that they bring in peanuts (in terms of revenue) compared to a full blown windows OS on a laptop.

As these devices bite into laptop sales MS profits could fall - even if this is miniscule.

As for Google Linux I see it likely being the dominant force in a decade or so.

What Android has going for it is that it is open source and have huge financial backing. It has slowly but surely begin to dominate the mobile world and plans are being laid out for this to move into the desktop market.

The future is never certain but every empire comes to an end, MS can't stay top forever. It's simply the nature of things.
