I have not played the first one, but it sold .75mil units in America alone. That isn't the greatest of numbers but they aren't terrible either.

Anyway I was just wondering what was wrong with the first game.

Someone who played it answer these questions.

Did it have much of a story? If so was it good? Did it stay good?

Besides the frame rate issue what other problems occurred playing? Were they constant and unplayable or were they once in a wile and easy to look over?

With more time developing the game IF they fixed it would it have been still mediocre, a bit better but nothing really noticeable, a lot better but still nothing special, or tons better and a great game?

I think I'll make a topic with those questions but concerning the OP This game looks good so far lets hope they iron out problems and make an impact. I don't think this surfer girl knows much just trying to get hits on her site, or making negative press to spread rumors. God I don't know how many times I've heard stories about something that sounded plausible and I ask the person who i heard it from "Where did you hear about this" and their response was "A friend" How did your friend hear about it" "don't know ill ask" and when they find out their friend found out either through a friend or found it in a forum.

Misinformation seems to spread a lot faster than good news these days.

I am not sure if you made the topic regarding these questions and I don't really care.

But I played all of the original Killzone, and IMHO it is terrible only in comparison to the quality of game that the expectations elude to regarding Killzone 2.

Killzone 1 was not bad, not great. parts are glitchy, the most noticable being the death animations, the ragdoll physics were attempted in some very strange way for this game.

The story was as strong as Halo IMO. take that for what its worth. You play different parts of the games as 3 or 4 different people, each of which have distict skill stes. (sniper/ demolitions/ main guy) The only thing memorable for me was its attempt at being sort of epic, and in that regard i think it almost succeeded.

But what it really seems to get alot of crap for was its sparse use of color. I thought that it looked very artistic and cool. parts of the game where the situation looked the bleakest seemed to have an almost black and white filter over it. I remember one level distinctly where fthe Hellghast are seemingly everywhere, it is black and white ish, then you come across a park.

No hellghast in sight,  and as you are going through this area, there are dogwood? trees everywhere. All of which are shedding the pink cotton into the air.

It was beautiful. A firefight ensues in this area, I think it has a heavy symbolism to the plot.

I think if it had more dev time, the game would have been a little less frustrating, as it was sometimes very hard, and it seemed like it wasn't your fault, when you died.

I maintain the opinion, that for a PS2 game, it was not too bad. It was just maybe attempting too much at one time. But in this regard, I think it was a good beginning to what could turn out to be a fantastic trilogy of games.
