I think Microsoft works a license that, if they publish something on their consoles, it is an exclusive to their consoles. Microsoft I believe is the publisher of Minecraft. It makes business sense for them to do that, as it gets them exclusives.
I would say to look for the invasion of sandbox games to come, and Sony and Nintendo to come up with their own answers to Minecraft. Even Epic, with Fortnite, is supposed to be coming out with a game inspired by Minecraft. In short, you know it will be coming.
Things have come far since the beta, particularly with the user generated mods they have for it. In the Yogbox, I notice I can build an airship, for example.
