That is... interesting.
It could be Sony is hedging their bets. They probably do have PSOrbis in some stage of development but if cloud gaming proves popular enough over the next year they could scrap or scale back PS4.
To their advantage Nintendo is releasing WiiU a system little more powerful than PS3 (perhaps not at all if the 'all-powerful' cell architecture hype is believed). They won't need a PS4 to compete with that.
It's true, Sony lost. Not only placing 3rd but losing billions in the process. They can't afford a repeat performance. PSV is underperforming. The market is changing with iOS/Android devices, social and cloud gaming. If making the PS3 a cloud system or rather - the leading cloud system - is successful, the need for more powerful hardware becomes irrelevant. If MS wants to make an all-powerful loss-leading system, that's fine. The PS3 will play the exact same games, looking just as good - off cloud. Yes, that might exclude a large chuck of market, but its pure profit for Sony where MS takes huge losses.
