I think this means more that Sony (and Nintendo/MS really) are moving away from traditional console hardware and more in line with TV boxes that will play their 1st party games (and all 3rd party games) along with a very wide range of digital media.
MS will have win8 on their device and it will be an extension of what will be offered on Windows phones and tablets. That's 100% fact.
Nintendo is heavily rumored to have added Android backbone into Wii U for this same purpose. I personally hope its true as I wanted a Google TV device anyways.
All that's left is Sony. Sony already works with Google, so it makes sense to add Android. OnLive is already on Android. Plus Sony might be working a deal to make it or similar service unique or more ingrained in their PSN service (include PS3 in that case).
I feel we'll see next gen be a race of OSs + 1st party software. Not "the big 3".
