When I first heard about trophies I had no idea what they were for. I thought maybe you would get rewards or enter ruffles by geting them or something.

I checked online and the answer is that they do... nothing. I was baffled at why something so pointless and stupid would be necessary.

With time, though, I've learnt to appreciate them. I'm not a trophy whore or anything, but when there are no new games that I'm interested in I pop one of my favourites in and go for the trophies, simply because it extends the life of games I like. However, I will never put getting trophies above playing new games, and I don't care for competing about who's got more or anything.

I know some people are so addicted to them they even play games they don't like for them. I can't understand that and in my view that's a case were you could say they've made things worse.

In the end, they give me some entertainment sometimes but I'd be perfectly fine without them.

So, what's your opinion on trophies? Have they made gaming better or not?
