Another point that Pachter makes which everyone else does as well is the fact that if you are putting on disc dlc (or day 1 dlc for that matter) then obviously the content was already completed before launch and you could have just included it in the game. Hence they are just essentially chopping off part of the game to sell at a later date. Although no one if legally preventing them from doing this, it is very bad business and is going a long way in screwing the consumer.

The best way against this is for us consumers to fight back with our wallets. Not buy the game or at least the dlc itself. DLC should be developed after a game has been released as an add-on or extra experience, not a chopped off part of a game.
