I certainly wouldn't toss out a principle like critical mass. Which is what both players have at this point in this console generation, and have had for quite some time. I am not arguing a starting position, but a point of equilibrium that can develop later in a generation may be a real possibility. Let me put it to you this way if the software average for one were to increase by say ten percent do you think it would be reflected in console sales or not.

As for the second part of your question. Give me a few hours, and I will bring out a hundred quotes from users on these forums claiming a superiority of one platforms first party developers over another. Did I expect there to be a difference. Not a large one mind you maybe two or three points difference. I was looking to see if there wasn't evidence that there wasn't a big gap. Instead I found no gap at all. Which is entirely contrary to what I have read on these forums for years.
