A interesting viewpoint though somewhat aside from the point. Microsoft and Sony have different approaches when it comes to library development. Sony obviously has more internal capacity. While Microsoft has more support from third party developers. The strategies basically cancel one another out. It makes no real difference to gamers as to where the games they play came from. If you want to judge victory by volume then it would probably be Microsoft that is winning.
Further more I am not using this data to explain hardware sales. I am saying there may be a causal link. In this case the software performing on par may cause the general public to see no real distinction between the machines. To go further I even said it could be the other way around. The hardware sales are resulting in the parity of software. What I am saying is these two things could be linked.
