The students strike was legal as long as students voted for the strike. I know and am glad we pay less than the rest of America. I understand the frustration from our english neighbours who have to pay more. I have to remind all of you though that we pay more taxes and have lower income in the end we are still all in debt just like the rest of America. The reason students protest isn't because the government wants to charge more to access university, we protest against debt. All American who attend university MUST be in debt unless they are rich... why is this supposed to be normal? People repeat that since we're children but in USA people pay for healthcare, here we pay nothing (through taxes I know) in USA people must think that it isn't fair they have to pay for healthcare (except for the rich ones) but seriously it's a choice a society has to make.

Here in Quebec people realized all the bad management and how rampant corruption is a threat to be debt free. The government now wants to put students into more debt for the sake of what? Banks? Mafia? Huge corporations that gets tax credits? Chinese mining companies? Remember we get close to nothing in return except more interest in our debts.

American's way to put people in debt works really well, we shouldn't accept that. It's time to stop saying "hey I paid so they should pay too" and start thinking how we can put this stupid system to rest, start thinking about efficient ways to get the population in universities and create/think, start thinking how we can reduce the debts of everyone... to me these things need to be addressed, I want to pay for my car/house/etc, and for services but I don't want to spend a part of my life giving money to banks/corruption/big greedy corporation interests.
