As far as I could tell the circles on the inside and outside was just addition where an outside circle cancelled an inside circle. I didn't see anything special about the position.
Edit: Interestingly many of the great scientists probably wouldn't have scored fantastically (I mean they'd have done very well, just not >180 well) on an IQ test. There is a difference between being intelligent and being brilliant, having a super high IQ doesn't mean you're going to have great inspiration.
