I can see that the man wasn't intentionally trying to harm the kid. It was a really bad accident stemmed from complete stupidity and ignorance.

If the child is truly not harmed, then pressing charges is pointless. If this woman does babysitting as a business then she is ruined already.

You have to also think of the intent of the action. The intent was harmless but stupid. The sitter will be ruined either way and the child is ok, thankfully.
