| Soleron said: So fake. Spec sheets are not exciting. This screams "OMG you're looking at a secret document!!!" XDR is a bad choice now, so is Cell. If you want a high performance CPU architecture you have three choices: Bulldozer, Core, or POWER7. 10GB RAM makes no sense because 5 channels of memory isn't likely. That number of PPEs and SPEs is completely implausible at 22nm. In fact, IBM won't even use a 22nm process, only Intel does. IBM will be 20nm I believe, and not in 2013 in time for commodity parts like a PS CPU, only for high end server parts. Nvidia will not have 22nm tech in 2013 either, no way is TSMC getting their act together in time. All the important info would NOT be on one sheet either, not release date and specs and features together. If it was in one thing it would be in a 50 page slide deck. |
IBM is going to 22nm they always use "full node" processes. Also TSMC plans 20nm end of this year/early next time frame.
