I absolutely accept that there are broken consoles, that happens, but still, in genral, to play a console game I insert the disk and I'm ready to go. Even if there is an update, it's done for me. There isn't any worrying about drivers, there's no worrying about DRM, there's no worrying about which patch needs to go with what system, there's no funny resolution settings, there's no worrying about conflicting programs, it just works. I put my disc in, and I play my game. It's a wonderful concept. When there is something wrong, it's fairly easy to diagnose what the issue is/
My PC is a working PC. Everything is up-to-date and everything else is running well. I would expect my game is run well too but I can't even install the game. There's are many potential fixes, almost all complicated and time consuming, and they're almost all shots in the dark.
You're dealing with a broken console. It happens and it does suck. Like any piece of hardware, they can break.
